Annual Memberships:
$10 - Individual
$20 - Family (one residence)
$100 - Lifetime (individual)

By joining, or renewing membership to, the Newfane Historical Society of New York, you'll help us expand society resources and preserve our collections. Membership is open to anyone, and all members receive our quarterly print newsletter, Apple Blossom Times, which contains the latest society news and historical articles.

Our membership year runs January 1st - December 31st. You do not need to be a Newfane resident. Lifetime memberships are per person, and cannot be shared or passed on to others. All dues are tax deductible to the full extent provided by law.

Volunteer

Volunteering teaches empathy, gratitude, respect for others, and teamwork. These are vital for all ages to be reminded of, and is often a great mood booster as volunteers enjoy the time they have spent helping their community.

Get Involved

We rely on volunteers of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and levels of experience to accomplish its mission to document, preserve, and interpret local history. No matter your interest or schedule, there is a place for you at the Newfane Historical Society. Volunteer experiences range from on-site activities, such as staffing of the Van Horn Mansion and Country Village, scanning photographs, data-entry, guiding walking tours, and presenting programs to local groups.

From those who make history to those who read about it, our society encourages everyone to get involved. History is exciting and fun, and there are many ways that you can help us bring the past to life. Please consider donating an hour or more of your time each month. We could really use the help!

Adults ages 18+

Youth Volunteers

  • Candidates should be ages 12-17 and must complete a Youth Form, signed by a parent or guardian.
  • Volunteers ages 12-13 must participate with a parent or guardian during their volunteer shifts.

Accepted items will be given a safe home and part of our displays. 

  • All items offered must gifted for free by the owner.
  • Due to storage space, duplication, and other reasons, we do not accept all items offered.
  • All donations become the sole property of the Newfane Historical Society.
